When you drive up to Vennebu Hill through the parking lot, at first glance a sprawling farmstead is visible with a small, early vineyard started (just this year Spring 2019). The grape vines are babies, but in just three years, the vines will fruit. Park the car, and walk towards the large barn doors, walk past the windmill towards an incredible view. Breathe in the fresh hilltop air! Take a moment to appreciate all the nature that surrounds you. You’re experiencing the Scandinavian tradition of Hygge, (/ˈho͝oɡə/) style, “a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through enjoying the simple things in life”. Vennebu Hill is a gathering place that is meant to be shared. Stop by and take in the moment.
Time to Get Cozy
Autumn is upon us. ‘Tis the time for cozy blankets, soft jeans, and warm sweaters. Put on the kettles for some tea and watch the colors change. This is the way Vennebu Hill was meant to be. The hilltop is beautiful throughout the year, but it especially perfect in the Fall. In the spirit of the season, here is a poem by Robert Frost, titled “October.”
